to beautiful mornings/to good hangovers

i never believed in the myth
of good hangovers
until i woke up today
to soft sunshine and a lazy breeze

nowhere to go
and nothing to do
could it get better
on a day like this

so i did what i do when i feel good
i put on some music
let it bounce off the walls
and right then a happy morning followed
a beautiful night

give in to the memories of last night
remember the moment you chose to let go
because that's the only thing
you need to carry with you

as you shout to get heard
over the loud music
you realize even the darkest song
has a melody underneath the noise

tipped over by happy spirits
hazy heads bob up an down
dancing with strangers
is sweet abandon.
